Charlie Hebdo
They went to work with pens in hand
And set about their love
A moment then it changed it all
Shots rained down from above
The ink from them it left their veins
And drew a work of hate
The date the seventh, the month the first
We shan’t forget that date
On that sad day were forced to pay
The right to have free speech
But we rose up and said “Mais non!”
A lesson to you we’ll teach
The deaths of these and others too
On three bad days in France
Have only made us stronger now
And made us know our stance
This right we have to speak our minds
Speak up and feel free
Is greater than your wish to hurt
Because Je Suis Charlie
