The parkland and river are found at the rear
There’s Shelley, there’s Keats and there’s Tennyson too
As trains cross the bridge all aboard now choo choo
The film buffs are out there to see’s paramount
The number of threats to this place lost count
As Thursday arrives so the stalls are laid out
With plenty of bargains for you to check out
The pick of the stores from the Co-op to Spar
The view from up Hartcliffe does stretch very far
The schools have sure changed some since I did go there
But stays in the centre the church for some prayer
And then comes the winter there’ll be snow for sure
The landscape in white though it gives more allure
This cute place in Yorkshire a jewel in the crown
The locals all know it as their Penistown
